Our Story

Willing Joseph Smith Liahona exists to carry forward the sacred mantle of unity, testimony, and gathering entrusted to the descendants of the Prophet Joseph Smith Jr. and Emma Hale Smith. Under the leadership of Gracia Jones and her son, David Joseph Denning, WJS Liahona serves as a bridge between the Joseph Smith Jr. and Emma Hale Smith Historical Society and the Joseph Smith Sr. Family Organization, ensuring their legacy is preserved and their message is carried to the world.

Our mission is to:

Honor and Defend the testimonies and sacrifices of Joseph, Emma, and the pioneers of the Restoration.

Unify and Gather the descendants of Joseph and Emma, together with the families of their contemporaries who stood faithful during the Restoration.

Testify and Share the message of Jesus Christ, the truth of the Restoration, and the continuing guidance of living prophets and apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Strengthen and Support the rising generation in their faith, covenants, and discipleship in preparation for the Second Coming of the Lord.

We declare our loyalty to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, our gratitude to those who built the foundation of faith with Joseph and Emma, and our commitment to move forward in unity, courage, and love as a family of Saints.
