About

Our Story

IT'S ABOUT ALL THE FAMILIES

Nearly 200 years ago, our ancestors stood together as the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ began to unfold.

They testified that God lives, Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, the heavens are open, and God still speaks to His children. They testified that Joseph Smith Jr. saw God the Father and Jesus Christ, that the Book of Mormon came forth through the gift and power of God, and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored for the blessing of all the families of the earth.

Today, their descendants have inherited more than names and history. We have inherited a generational stewardship.

For generations, faithful Saints have honored the priesthood, built temples, preserved records, shared the Gospel, and performed sacred ordinances for the living and the dead. Because of their faithfulness, Joseph and Emma Smith and members of their posterity have received blessings that earlier generations could only hope would someday come.

For that, our family says thank you.

Willing Joseph Smith Liahona is an independent family mission and stewardship. We are not sponsored by, directed by, or an official organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are descendants, family members, and friends who desire to express our gratitude, bear witness of Jesus Christ and the Restoration, reconnect families, preserve history, and serve others.

Our mission is one of gratitude, reconciliation, gathering, service, and testimony.

We seek to reconnect the descendants of Joseph Smith Sr. and Lucy Mack Smith, to stand beside descendants of the many families who sacrificed for the Restoration, and to honor those throughout the world who continue to carry the work of Jesus Christ forward.

This is not about one descendant, one family, or one generation.

It is about all the families.

As your ancestors stood beside ours, we desire to stand beside you.

Together, may we turn our hearts toward our fathers and our children, strengthen faith in Jesus Christ, preserve the stories entrusted to us, serve one another, and move forward with courage, faith, gratitude, and unity as we prepare for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

The heavens are open.
Jesus Christ lives.
The Restoration continues.
The stewardship now belongs to us.
